Notes for "HYMNS AND OTHER SONGS WE WROTE OURSELVES" Roger True and Jacky True you've probably heard these names before. They have played all over North Carolina especially Greensboro. Their new CD entitled (Hymns and Other Songs We Wrote Ourselves) is a very good CD. I think you will enjoy listening to their new CD. They sing Bluegrass, Country and also Gospel. Roger and Jacky are talented singer songwriters. Two songs I especially like on their CD are (We Do It For You) (A Christmas Wish) Although they didn't write (A Christmas Wish) They do a great job on it. So if you like variety. Buy this Album. THE
TRUE BROTHERS The True Brothers have recorded five albums since 1998. But have been thought of primarily as a cover act. Even though a couple of their releases have included songs penned by them. With this new CD the boys hope to change all of that. For the first time ever the brothers have put together a collection of fifteen songs. All but one written by them. Not only that, but the material is of different genres. For example hymns like, "There's a Gate" a # 24 hit for them just last year according to Power Source Magazine, which is governed by the CCMA; the Christian Country Music Association of Nashville. And in the country vain is a love song titled, "It Wouldn't Be the Same", "Hats Off to Webb" a tribute song to country music superstar Webb Pierce. Songs based on novels like "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" with "Jekyll Ol' Jekyll". Plus a song that tells us why the True's do all of this music stuff! "We Do It for You". Then there's even a song with a great deal of humor in it with "That Banjo Picking Mama of Mine" with it's bluegrass over tones. Now one of the most powerful hymns takes it's story from the Bible, "Let My Children Go", while another is of today's hardships and headlines "Who Am I to Question Thee", "At the Side of That Old Tree" written for their dad, Mr. Jack Carl True, Sr.; "Jesus Has His Eyes on You" is a good old bluegrass spiritual done in the acappella style and rendered by Roger, Jacky's younger brother, as is two others in this project. Bluegrass legend Bobby Atkins and the Countrymen help out on the hymns and at least one other. And as you probably already know Jacky and Roger are fond of doing recitations and in fact people have come to expect them from Roger and Jacky. Well if you are one of those you won't be disappointed in that area either. Because five of the songs on this package have a recitation on them and for the guys usual bonus number they've chosen a Christmas song called "A Christmas Wish" written by a friend, Mr. Rickey Dunn. For you see the brothers True as always aim to please. So enjoy! Tracy Austin
